They consider improvements that could not be foreseen when the parts were originally designed and use new manufacturing technology or high-tech materials. Fuel Valves for Cessna 150-15

McFarlane announced its new Fuel Valves for Cessna 150-152. From years of experience, McFarlane found flaws that degrade the service life and repairability of the original Cessna valves. These issues has been addressed by the manufacturer in its improved design to provide a higher quality, longer lasting valve. You can now not only have a new valve with improved design, you can have it for the price of repairing your old one.

Improved corrosion resistance

McFarlane’s new valves are totally anodized where the original valves were alodine conversion coated. This change drastically improves the surface durability, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance of all the components, and they will stay pretty too! Corrosion protection is important since the valves are at the lowest point in the fuel system without any upstream water separation or contaminate screening. McFarlane has also eliminated the brass bushing that corrodes the cam.

Improved O-ring retention

Modern machining processes enables precision machine the O-ring capture cavity. This is a huge impovement compered to the original valve O-rings retained by inconsistently staking (stamp forming) the housing which also compromised the surrounding aluminum structure.

More balanced fuel flow

Yesterday’s manual machining process of the original valves were often inconsistent enough to let one port flow more fuel than needed while the other port might flow a very marginal amount of fuel. The new McFarlane valve is computer machined for a perfect balance of fuel flow.

Fully Tested

You can rest assured that if it’s a new McFarlane valve it will be pressure, functional, and flow tested to perform to the highest standards. The valves are also FAA-PMA approved.

Retractable Gear Brake Swivel for Cessna Aircraft

McFarlane also introduced us to its new Brake Swivel Assembly. The product has been designed to provide a leak-proof swivel point, allowing the landing gear to retract without damaging the brake line. The improved assembly is a direct replacement for the OEM part P/N 1280111-1. The parts are FAA-PMA approved and each assembly undergoes pressure and motion testing for maximal safety!
